How we market regulated professions

Physiotherapists, lawyers and accountants are held to advertising rules that most businesses never face. We take that seriously. Here is exactly how we work.

Our commitments

  • You approve every word before it goes live.Nothing is published on your behalf without your yes.
  • We never write, buy or post reviews.Reviews and testimonials must come from real clients or patients, and only where your regulator allows them.
  • We make no promises we can't keep.No guaranteed rankings, calls or clients, and no claims about results we can't support.
  • You own your accounts and your data.Your Google profile, analytics and ad account stay in your name.
  • We report on real numbers. Each month you see the calls and enquiries we can measure, and what we changed.

Rules differ by province and profession

Each profession is regulated by provincial or territorial bodies, and each publishes its own advertising rules. At the start we ask who your regulator is, and we work within its published standards. Where a rule is unclear, we ask you to confirm it with your regulator before anything goes live.

Examples of what regulators say

These are examples only, and your own regulator's rules apply to you.

  • The College of Physiotherapists of Ontario allows testimonials in advertising only when they are true, verifiable and written by patients who received care, with the patient's informed consent. Read the standard
  • For lawyers, a Canadian Lawyer summary of marketing rules notes that claims need to be accurate and verifiable, and that lawyers can't advertise as specialists unless their law society has certified them. Read the summary
